Fire Inspections Survey
Please take the time to complete a very basic fire inspection survey. The Fire Department's goal is to insure that basic state fire code requirements are met and that customers understand the intent of the inspection.

| The Fire Prevention Division oversees Fire Inspections within City limits, Fire Protection requirements for new and renovated commercial buildings, including Knox Box program, permits and fees. Fire prevention/Life Safety programs are also coordinated through the division. |
Emergency Management for the City is provided by the Jacksonville Fire Department. Services for emergency management include preparation, planning, mitigation and recovery. The Department and the City work with Onslow County and state Emergency Management agencies in strategy development. |
The City of Jacksonville has created a Fire Safety Advisory Board which researches and recommends methods to enhance & improve fire protection & life safety for the community. City residents and Camp Lejeune and New River AS interested in volunteering on the board may apply. |
Operations, Training & Standards
Under the command of Chief Rick McIntyre, the Operations Division provides services for fire suppression, first responder, confined space & calls or service. Training and Standards oversees training and safety, recruitment of paid and volunteer personnel and manages Special Response Teams. Administration provides leadership and direction, managing day-to-day administrative responsibilities. more

Learning and understanding fire prevention
skills is beneficial to citizens of all ages.
The JFD is available to demonstrate and speak with schools and community organizations. more

New Engine #3
August 17, 2010 - A new advanced fire fighting vehicle with autonomous operational capabilities will help improve the ability of Jacksonville firefighters to perform their duties will less emphasis on operating the truck. The new truck is part of the City’s commitment to efficient firefighting and keeping a rating that means City residents pay lower fire insurance rates. Click image on right for larger view.
