Emergency Management The Emergency Management function of the City of Jacksonville is provided by the Fire Department. Our objective is to provide emergency management planning that encompasses preparation, planning, mitigation, and recovery. Emergency/contingency plans for each City department are being developed that will supplement the overall City Emergency Operations Plan.
A close working relationship with Onslow County, local military and state-level Emergency Management agencies has been established and has proven beneficial during emergencies. Emergency management activities for the City provide an additional resource for preparing for and responding to disasters related to natural and man-made events.
