 Childrens Programs Child Find Program
This program is presented in two forms 1) fingerprinting 2) videotaping. The child find program provided to youth groups upon request and has proven to be successful.
Officer Friendly Program
The Officer Friendly program consist of structured blocks of instruction presented to children from kindergarten through third grade. Visits are made to the children enrolled in the schools of the Onslow county school system a minimum of three visits per year. Also, any other group upon request. The program is very valuable in that it introduces youth to uniform police officers. This introduction allow the youth to see the police officer as their friend.
Bicycle Safety Program
Bicycle safety lectures are provided to youth groups through officer friendly. The Jacksonville Police Department Community Services Division works in conjunction with local civic groups in bicycle rodeo's, where riding skills have to be demonstrated along with proper bicycle inspection. The bicycle safety program emphasizes bicycle safety and is very valuable in the departments efforts to prevent injuries to bicycle riders.
