Community Programs

Gun Safety Program

Gun safety classes are provided to various groups through the departments Police Training Academy and Officer Friendly. Youth groups are provided gun safety while adult groups are given in-depth training on proper usage of hand guns.

School Level Career Days

Periodically local schools will conduct career days. During these days a visit by a uniform police officer from the Community Service Division are conducted. The police officer utilizes displays for demographics and answers questions concerning law enforcement as a profession. Career day visits are conducted at local elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools.

Ladies Firearms Training Program

A ladies firearms training course is available.
