K9

The Jacksonville Police Department's K-9 program was implemented in 1998. The department has three full time K-9 teams that provide coverage to the Patrol, Investigative Services, and Traffic Divisions. The K-9's are trained as dual purpose patrol dogs and the K-9 and handler spend a great deal of time training when they are not working the streets.
