Can I place loose garbage in my trash container?
Solid waste collection policies require that garbage be bagged first, then placed in your container. This greatly reduces odor and litter. Bagged trash also keeps the container cleaner, thus reducing the chance of attracting flies, rodents and other critters.

Where do I place my container to ensure collection?
Waste and recycling containers should be placed within a few inches of the curb in front of your house by 7:30am on your scheduled collection day. The lid opening should face the street (look at the arrows on the lid) to ensure that the lid opens properly and is not damaged when emptied. Leave a minimum of three feet between all containers at the curb (between multiple trash containers and between trash and recycling containers).
Please do not place containers directly in the street where it may impede traffic. Also, keep containers away from mailboxes, utility poles, parked cars or any other items that may be damaged by or be a hindrance to the collection equipment. Please do not place your container at the curb any earlier than 6:00pm the night before your scheduled day or leave it at the curb any later than 6:00am the day following your scheduled day.
