City Council & Mayor Phillips honor local nonprofitsThe City of Jacksonville believes that the nonprofit community can provide services to our Citizens much more efficiently than can Government, and by empowering the nonprofits with more resources, more can be done.  



Work with Local Nonprofits spacer 

Non-Profit Annual Workshop Work to help enhance local nonprofits involves facilitating the quarterly meeting of the Nonprofit Executives Roundtable and the annual Board Development and Training Seminar. The Seminar is designed to give new and seasoned nonprofit board members high quality education at home. A partnership with the NC Community Foundation provides programming. A primary partner for the training and work with the Nonprofit community is Coastal Carolina Community College.
      
Annual Board Development and Training Seminar for nonprofits
Every year the City sponsors a Board Development and Training Seminar designed to help provide the volunteer directors of the nonprofit corporations with professional development.This seminar assist volunteer directors in order to help the volunteers who manage the nonprofit corporation. For nonprofits that receive City funding, it is a requirement, among others, that one-half of their board members must undergo professional board development training each year. The City Board Development and Training Seminar is provided as a free resource that can help accomplish that goal. 2011 Jacksonville - Onslow Board Development & Training Conference.
