Fire Safety Advisory Board

The Board consists of ten (10) members and represent the following industries, trades, professions, or categories: fire protection systems contractor, developer, property insurance, health care industry, petroleum or LP gas industry, fire service representative (active or retired), hotel/motel, general business, at-large city resident, and Camp Lejuene Marine Base/Air Station New River.

The Fire Safety Advisory Board meets the second Thursday of the first month of each quarter at 6:00 PM, upstairs at the main Fire Station (#1), 206 Marine Boulevard. Staff Liaison is Fire Chief Rick McIntyre. Council Liaison is Councilman Jerry Bittner.

Qualifications for Appointment:

Members must reside within the City limits or within the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of the City; or have a business or employment within the City. Members shall be representatives of the following industries, trades, professions or categories: Fire protection systems contractor; Developer; Property insurance; Health care industry; Petroleum or fuel gas industry; Fire service representative (active or retired); Hotel/motel; Owner or manager of a business that would not qualify for membership in another industry; (2) Residents of the city at large; and MCBCL/MCAS representative. Members must be registered to vote within Onslow County, except for active duty military personnel.
