Facilities Maintenance Services Division

City Hall, Jacksonville, NCFacilities Maintenance Division takes great pride in customer satisfaction and ability to maintaining City owned facilities. The Division's goal is to support the City Council's goals by supporting development of plans to construct and maintain adequate infrastructure.

Throughout the City, The Division provides  Citizens, City employees and visitors of the City of Jacksonville with well maintained facilities in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Main office line 910 938-5328



Conservation in the City of Jacksonville
The City is saving through energy conservation & reducing waste to sustain a Clean & Green Jacksonville. This effort is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Through funding this City is able to focus on energy saving improvements in City buildings and activities providing services to residents. more

Providing management and administrative support including daily contact with Citizens and other employees in explaining and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.  The Division monitors all City facility-related maintenance agreements and contracts and is an integral part of plans and reviews.

Carpentry
The Facilities Maintenance Division's Carpentry Shop  is well equipped to do to perform tasks and create elements used in City building and maintenance projects.

Services
Facilities Maintenance Services staff provides skilled and technical construction, repair and maintenance work for over 200 City operational facilities. Just a few areas of responsibility include maintenance on ball field and tennis court lights as well as other recreational electronics repairs such as scoreboard.
Facilities Maintenance Staff Maintenance
Maintenance staff are specialists. They regularly check and change filters and v-belts on air handlers, renovate structures, plaster, paint, and lay tile for City owned facilities. The Division provides daily carpentry, plumbing, electrical maintenance requests. The City also hires contractors when needed to complete tasks.

Welders working for the Division are responsible for a variety of projects and support the Facilities Maintenance and City's requests for tasks such as  repairing city dumpsters, city vehicles and equipment.

Custodial
Custodial Services staffing consist of three Custodians who are responsible for 98,399 sq ft building space.
