Bulk Item Collection

The City of Jacksonville offers bulk item collection for specific items such as yard waste, household junk, construction/remodeling material, tires, pallets and large appliances. Call 938-5338 to schedule services or for additional information

Appliances

Appliances are collected once-a-week, typically on Thursdays; just notify our office of your address and the type of appliance ( up to 2 appliances each week at no charge) by Wednesday afternoon, then have the appliance at the curb by 7:30am Thursday morning. Each additional item after the basic service of two items will cost $10 per item to collect.

Large Piles of Limbs and Yard Debris

Large Piles of Limbs and Yard Debris that measure less than one cord (4'x4'x8') will be picked up at no charge. For piles larger than one cord, there may be a $20 per cord charge assessed. Supervisory personnel will inspect the pile, and if a charge is assessed, we will notify you in accordance with the solid waste collection policy before it is collected.

Construction/Remodeling Material

Construction/Remodeling Material may be collected by the City at a charge of $40 per cord; or a resident may schedule the Dial-A-Truck for this type of material. (See Dial-A-Truck below)

 

Pallets and Tires

Pallets and tires have been banned from the Onslow County Landfill.  However, City crews will collect these items once-a-week, typically on Thursdays; just call the Sanitation Office for scheduling.

Large Empty Cardboard Boxes

Large Empty Cardboard Boxes from moving, etc., may be picked up with your recycling items. Flatten the boxes and stack them at the curb on your recycle day. And remember - do not mix materials such as yard waste and construction material. Please keep these items in separate piles.

Dial-A-Truck

The Dial-A-Truck program is a service provided for residents to use for excessive amounts of yard waste, household junk or building material needing disposal. There is no fee for the Dial-A-Truck service. 

Dial-A-Truck, a 2-ton dump truck, is available on a first-call/first scheduled basis. The truck will be parked at the residence between 2pm and 3pm on the scheduled day of service and picked up by 8am the next morning. If the truck is parked on a Friday, it will be picked up 8am the following Monday.

Items such as yard waste and household junk may not be mixed in the truck; only one type of material can be placed in the truck at any given time. Call  938-5338 to schedule Dial-A-Truck Services.
