Jacksonville Waste Water LagoonInvestment for the Future

The City of Jacksonville Land Treatment Site is a $50 million investment in the future of our community. It is designed to treat 6 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater, with future plans to expand capacity to 9 MGD for the future needs of the community.

Positive Environmental Impact

This facility has a positive impact on the community by:

  • Disposal of wastewater in an environmentally safe manner.
  • Eliminating the discharge of up to 5.2 MGD of treated wastewater into the New River.
  • Providing a 6,300 acre site which provides an environment where wildlife flourishes.
  • Allows the treated wastewater after natural purification to be recycled back into the groundwater reservoir.
