 Investment for the Future
The City of Jacksonville Land Treatment Site is a $50 million investment in the future of our community. It is designed to treat 6 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater, with future plans to expand capacity to 9 MGD for the future needs of the community.
Wastewater Performance Report
The 2009 Annual Wastewater Performance Report examines the accomplishments and challenges met by the City's Land Treatment Facility and Collection System.
Positive Environmental Impact
This facility has a positive impact on the community by:
- Disposal of wastewater in an environmentally safe manner.
- Eliminating the discharge of up to 5.2 MGD of treated wastewater into the New River.
- Providing a 6,300 acre site which provides an environment where wildlife flourishes.
- Allows the treated wastewater after natural purification to be recycled back into the groundwater reservoir.
