What's Our Urban Area? The Jacksonville Urban Area includes all incorporate areas of the City of Jacksonville and portions of Onslow County (2000 Census Population 103,954). Jacksonville's MPO is the regional transportation planning organization consisting of representatives from the City of Jacksonville, Onslow County, North Carolina Department of Transportation, and area military bases. The MPO provides the regional, cooperative planning process that serves as the basis for the expenditure of all Federal transportation funds in the area for streets, highways, bridges, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian paths. |
