Summer Adventure Camp Programs

Summer Camp GroupFor those seeking adventure and enjoy experiencing the great outdoors & camping, the Adventure Camp program may be exactly what you need.  A number of Adventure Camps are offered during the summer months tailored for different age groups.  'Take a peak' through your binoculars to see one of these camps is right for your child.  Don't hesitate as the camp spots fill quickly!

All trips require good health and physical conditions.  Due to the nature of the trips and travel involved, only those with children exhibiting good self-discipline and excellent behavioral skills should consider this program.

It is necessary for your child to have certain amenities for the camp, especially since the camp is an overnight experience.  Please reference our What to Bring Checklist for a list of what your child will need.  Please keep in mind that your camper may not need every item but it is a great comprehensive list.

For a complete guide on what your child will need, how check in time works, what your camper would need spending money for, supervision/security, health and medications, homesickness, phone calls etc, please reference the packet of information received with your camp registration information or our electronic version of the Parent's Information guide.  You can also reference the Adventure Camps Frequently Asked Questions page for some quick information.

Registration for 2012 begins in the end of March.  City resident registrations begin on March 26, 2012 and Non-City resident registrations begin on April 6, 2012.  You may register at the Jacksonville Commons Administrative Office between the hours of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday.  For additional information or questions regarding the camps being offered, please contact Nick Brauninger at 910 938-5317 or at nbrauninger@ci.jacksonville.nc.us.
