Process-
This planning area looks at the commercial corridors and residential areas in the southwest part of town including South Marine Boulevard, Richlands Highway, Yopp Road, Georgetown, Collins Heights and Hickory Hills. The plan will be broken into two phases; a commercial corridor phase and a residential phase. Staff is working with interested parties in the area to encourage continued redevelopment and reinvestment. Staff and interested parties will work through 2012 to draft goals and recommendations to improve the area.

Staff will collect data and conduct research including, census research, property histories, baseline property assessment, and interviews with property and business owners.
Coming soon- Visioning & Recommendations
Staff and intetested parties will be brainstorming short term recommendations and long term goals; possibly changing regulatory code and addressing impediments to property redevelopment and general ways to bring about positive improvements to the corridor.
