Planning Board Information

The City of Jacksonville Planning Board is responsible for advising City Council on matters involving long-range community planning, comprehensive planning, zoning and development proposals.

The Planning Board meets at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Jacksonville City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street.

Qualifications for Appointment:

Eight (8) members shall reside within the City limits and one member shall be a resident of the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Members must be registered to vote within Onslow County, except for active duty military personnel.

<h3>Council Meetings</h3> <p>Cancellations, changes and/or revisions will be posted as they become available.&nbsp; The Jacksonville City Council meets on the first Tuesday following the first Monday and two weeks thereafter at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of Jacksonville City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street.</p> <p>Whenever the regular meeting date falls on an Election Day or holiday, the meeting will be conducted the following day.</p> <h3>Workshop Meetings</h3> <p>The Jacksonville City Council Workshop meets shall occur on the first Tuesday following the second Regular City Council Meeting of the month at 5:00 PM in the Council Chambers of the Jacksonville City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street.</p> <p>You may request an accommodation for a disabling condition in order to attend meetings. If you have not already made a request prior to the meeting, you may do so with the City's ADA Coordinator Carmen K. Miracle, at 910.938.5224 or TDD 910.455.8852. Such request should be made at least twenty-four hours prior to the meeting.</p> <h3>Special Meetings/Emergency Meetings</h3> <p>The Jacksonville City Council will occasionally hold Special Meetings and Emergency Meetings.&nbsp; Scheduling details and topic information will be posted as it becomes available.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
