The Communications & Community Affairs Department provides a variety of projects, programs and operations that work to improve the quality of life for Jacksonville Citizens.

G10TV, Jacksonville-Onslow Government TV logoG10 Live & On Demand Online 
Know what's going on in your community. Watch City and County Meetings live and on-demand on G10TV. Community events, City profiles and special events such as the Beirut Memorial and 9/11 Service are also broadcast. Schedule 
G10TV  provides 24hr broadcast on Time Warner Cable.  G10TV is a joint venture of Jacksonville - Onslow. G10TV reaches Onslow and Jacksonville with programs on G10 Time Warner Cable and Charter 14.

Jacksonville Youth Council, National Day of Service City cleanup Jacksonville Youth Council (JYC)
It is the mission to engage, teach and involve our young people in activities to help build an affinity for the community of Jacksonville and Onslow County. High school students from Jacksonville and throughout Onslow County join together at the Jacksonville Youth Center for events and activities. Sturgeon City Institue Sturgeon City
The revitalization of Sturgeon City at Wilson Bay continues to be a project led by citizens and City Council.  A Clean Water Management Trust Fund has been established and an Educational Center Built to further efforts. Educational resources and information regarding the Sturgeon City Summer Institutes is available.
Weed and Seed, Small Business Seminar, 2008 Weed & Seed
Provides resources to help small business owners and community organizations blossom and grow. Events such as Community Cleanup Days and Small Business Seminars provides local business owners and the community tools that will help them succeed. Hall of Fame Event, 2009 Sports & Economic Development
The Jacksonville - Onslow Sports Commission encourages and supports events tournaments and activities that will help in the economic development of the area. A yearly event honors local sports professionals with induction into the Jacksonville - Onslow Sports Hall of Fame.
 


The Community Affairs Director, Glenn Hargett serves as the nonprofit liaison for the City, oversees the fund development for Sturgeon City, advises and directs the Water Quality Initiatives for the City, organizes the Jacksonville Youth Council, works with the Onslow Civic Affairs Committee, and works to advance many of the Council Initiative projects.
